05 & 06 December 2016 - Admission and Information Day

Around 1150 visitors were present at the MITD “Admission and Information Day” which was held at the MITD Campus at Ebène. The theme of this event was “MITD – Be Skilled. Be Work-Ready”.

Every year, around 6,000 students leave primary education without a certificate, around 11,000 students do not pass their SC and around 8000 fail their HSC. Most of them, especially parents, are unaware of the opportunities available to them through an alternative way to learn skills and be employable.

Hence, this event was targeted to those potential trainees who have completed their secondary education and who wish to be enrolled for courses to be run as from January 2017 under the full-time and apprenticeship modes.

The following trades were showcased: Building Construction and Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Printing, Jewellery, Automotive Trades, Textile and Apparel, Handicraft.

Moreover, our experienced trainers were present to counsel students on training opportunities and career prospects available to them.
